This award recognizes the merits of a professional who demonstrates outstanding commitment in providing quality French-language health or social services on a daily basis.<\/strong><\/p>\n This\u00a0 \u00a0award\u00a0 \u00a0was\u00a0 \u00a0created\u00a0 \u00a0in\u00a0 \u00a0honour\u00a0 \u00a0of\u00a0 \u00a0Margaret\u00a0 \u00a0Teresa McDonell,\u00a0 \u00a0an\u00a0 \u00a0early\u00a0 \u00a0pioneer\u00a0 \u00a0who,\u00a0 \u00a0upon\u00a0 \u00a0her\u00a0 \u00a0arrival\u00a0 \u00a0in St. Boniface in 1855, provided care to the francophone and M\u00e9tis families \u00a0in \u00a0the \u00a0fledgling \u00a0Red \u00a0River \u00a0mission, \u00a0which \u00a0was \u00a0the beginnings of the St. Boniface Hospital.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n R<\/u><\/strong>e<\/u><\/strong>cognition<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n This award \u00a0recognizes \u00a0the \u00a0exceptional \u00a0commitment \u00a0of \u00a0a health \u00a0or \u00a0social services \u00a0professional who \u00a0has \u00a0demonstrated \u00a0outstanding \u00a0dedication \u00a0in \u00a0providing \u00a0high \u00a0quality \u00a0French \u00a0languageservices within the workplace. The recipient demonstrates human and professional qualities by\u00a0implementing positive, creative initiatives in providing high quality French language services.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Eligibility<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Anyone working or having worked in health or social services in Manitoba is eligible to receive the recognition award. Nominations \u00a0may \u00a0be \u00a0submitted \u00a0by \u00a0persons \u00a0who \u00a0work \u00a0in \u00a0a \u00a0designated \u00a0bilingual \u00a0community organization, institution, program, department or agency in Manitoba.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A<\/u><\/strong>ward Presentation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n The Margaret-Teresa-McDonell Recognition Award is be presented by Sant\u00e9 en fran\u00e7ais.
