Projects 2023-2028

Thanks to a federal investment of $1.5 million over five years, two projects led by Manitoba-based organizations were selected under the 2023–2028 call for projects launched by Société Santé en français. This initiative, supported by Health Canada through the Action Plan for Official Languages 2023–2028: Protection – Promotion – Collaboration, aims to improve access to French-language health and social services for minority communities.

As the provincial network member of Société Santé en français, Santé en français played a key role in providing strategic support and guidance for these two projects. By mobilizing partners, fostering strong collaborations, and facilitating concerted action, Santé en français helped bring these impactful initiatives to life for Manitoba’s Francophone community.

Media Coverage

The May 16, 2025, press conference garnered strong media interest. Several articles, interviews, and reports highlighted the significance of these initiatives for the Francophone population in Manitoba.

Vers des soins pour toustes

Led by the Collectif LGBTQ* du Manitoba, this project seeks to improve access to care for French-speaking 2ELGBTQIA+ individuals. By documenting community needs and providing training to care providers, it aims to make health services more inclusive, respectful, and responsive.

The Collectif LGBTQ* du Manitoba is dedicated to the well-being of Francoqueer individuals and to promoting safety, diversity, and inclusion within public services, especially health and social services.

As part of its 2023–2028 call for projects, Société Santé en français selected 12 additional initiatives across the country. Developed in collaboration with local partners, each project aims to improve access to French-language health services for Francophone and Acadian minority communities. Together, they showcase the diversity of approaches being implemented nationwide to meet the unique needs of these populations.

These projects are made possible thanks to financial support from Health Canada through Société Santé en français, under the Action Plan for Official Languages 2023–2028: Protection – Promotion – Collaboration.
