The General Child and Family Services Authority of Manitoba is seeking to increase the number of French-speaking foster families in order to better meet the needs of children who require services in French.
In an interview with Radio-Canada on May 5, 2026, Florette Giasson, French-Language Services Coordinator for the General Authority, stated that the organization wants to improve the visibility and presence of French-speaking foster families in order to help preserve the francophone culture of children in care.
