Offer health and social services in French proactively

Actively offering services en français helps people who prefer to receive services in French learn about the options available in their language and access them more easily. It can take many forms: a bilingual greeting, a question about the person’s preferred language, a conversation in French or a referral to a person or resource that can provide a service in French are already meaningful steps. They can help create a more welcoming environment, make communication easier and build trust.

In 10 videos, Santé en français presents everyday situations that illustrate how to actively offer and request services in French in health and social service settings. They highlight practical steps that can make communication easier, improve understanding, and contribute to safe, high-quality services.

The campaign also presents tools and resources to support professionals in their work and help them incorporate active offer into their daily practice. Explore the resources available further down this page or contact Santé en français to learn more.
